For one week from Wednesday 23rd to the 30th of July I went on a family holiday to the Algarve in Portugal and stayed in the golden triangle with the benefit of being located right next to the Ria Formosa National Park. Although this wasn't a wildlife based holiday I did manage to capture some images whilst moving about the area and on some of our walks whilst also visiting the national park set 'route'. Unfortunately a lot of the wildlife was far away and although this wasn't a problem for me at the time as I had my good quality and long distance binoculars, it did prove a problem for my camera as they were just slightly too far sometimes. However here are some of the results included within the blog. The first picture being this Hoopoe, probably the one bird I was most interested in seeing... ironically my father spotted it whilst driving around trying to find an entrance to the national park, and so as I was leaning out the hire car back window with the hoopoe on the lawn of a magnificent and huge mansion. |
