Lighting Choices
Features that you'll want to know
2) The top right shows the 'Test' button alongside 4 LEDs. When pressed it shows the amount of battery life in hours remaining of the light. 4 LEDs equals four hours, when the light is on, the intensity will change on this bar as the more intense the light is, the less hours of use you have.
3) Bottom left is the attachment of the light, it has a hot shoe mount and wheel to tighten the fit when on top of a camera. It also includes a female tripod screw and you can adapt the angle of the light by un-tightening the plastic knob shown below the hot shoe mount.
4) The bottom right shows the battery compartment, it is compatible with five different kinds of battery:
- Panasonic CGR-D16S
- Sony NP-FH70, NP-FM55H and NP-F550
- AA batteries
RATED - SILVER This has achieved the silver award, I have decided to give this medal to the CN-160 LED video light due to its high intensity and range of gels, it is simple to handle, use and mount and also doubles as a powerful spotlight when needed at night. The only real downside is battery life and so a small investment would be needed into either some rechargeable AAs or one of the compatible camera batteries. The price is very low compared to some lighting system and then fact it is portable helps many videographers as it can be slung in a rucksack and pulled out when needed. |
