EXCLUSIVE - THE WHOLE ARTICLE
I've decided to start this four program series in order to share my experiences of Nonsuch. After becoming a steward for the Friends of Nonsuch and involving myself in the other park groups, I realised that I was becoming interested in the park and I wanted others in the area too as well. My long-term ambitions are to become a Natural History Producer and so films like this will build up my portfolio.
I chose Nonsuch because I've lived in the area all my life, this park has been on my doorstep and produced so many memories for me personally. Nonsuch also contains a wide range of interests for all people and I really want to show people what Nonsuch offers from the rich wildlife to the deep history. A park like Nonsuch is rare for such an urban area and so it’s really important how spaces like this survive and we study how they respond to our changing environments.
I'm not looking for money, I want people to enjoy my work and learn something new about their local area. At the moment I fund all the films myself and so I just want people to appreciate the hard work behind making a program but I also want everyone to
appreciate the work of the park staff and organisations that create such a great park. I also hope in many years to come when Nonsuch will undoubtedly change there will be a record of how it use to be because as the old saying goes there is ‘None-such’ like it.
In 2013 viewers can expect a behind the scenes look into the organisations of Nonsuch and I'll hopefully be inviting some experts along to tell us more about specific stories in the park. This spring we will be exploring the new life in the park and the rest of the year is set for hidden secrets and new discoveries. This is going to be my main project this year, although I want to explore other areas of the local wildlife through film in the upcoming years like the urban peregrines of Sutton and river Hogsmill.
